About Me

Oliver is a typically opinionated and arrogant seventeen-year-old. In fact, he is so opinionated and arrogant he decided to setup a blog to share his views, opinions, thoughts and ideas with the world, hoping that at least someone will find them mildly interesting or humorous. He writes on everything from politics and history to philosophy and economics as well as sometimes on topics that people are interested in. His posts can be influenced or revolve around popular news stories, thoughts that may have occurred somewhere in the catacomb that is his mind or from other sources like television or radio programmes, books and other articles on the web.

Politically, Oliver is on the Right (naturally, he’s never wrong). Despite this, he considers himself a liberal, if a conservative one at that. He believes in the importance of the individual, civil liberties and the free market. He is far more liberal than many a self-claimed Liberal (Democrat), supporting gay marriage, euthanasia and the legalisation of drugs (no, not just marijuana) and prostitution (including pimping — although, regulated). Having said all that, being a Right-wing liberal, Oliver is confined to supporting the Conservatives and thus also believes that institutions, whilst second to the individual, are a good thing. He’s also a strong supporter of the Monarchy.

Oliver doesn’t just do politics, though. Of course, being a Tory he’s an evil, heartless bastard; but when he isn’t spending his time grinding down the faces of the poor he likes computing, web design, aviation, sailing and travel. He’s currently in his last year of Sixth Form, disillusioned with the wonderful, progressive ways of modern British education. He’s not exactly sure what he’s going to be doing after Sixth Form, but is strongly interested in pursuing a career in The City (so he can further his ruining the life of Britain’s poor).
